Federal Government Declares Tuesday, Wednesday as Public Holidays

In honour of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr festival, the Federal Government has designated Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as public holidays.

In Abuja, federal government representative Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, made the announcement.

The minister congratulates the entire Muslim Ummah on successfully finishing the fasting during the holy month of Ramadan in a letter signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Gogo-Ndayako.

Tunji-Ojo exhorted the Muslim Ummah to emulate the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace be upon Him) kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighbourliness, and compassion.

In order to better and attain peace and unity in the nation, he asked Nigerians to keep up their spirit of unity.

The Minister prays for the peace, blessings, and favour of Allah to be upon everyone and our great nation, and he wishes the Muslim Ummah a good Eid-el-Fitr celebration.”
