In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command’s Spokesperson CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu stated that, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on 8th December, 2021, paid an advocacy visit to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu and his Management Team at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.”
According to Ajisebutu, “The First Lady who was warmly received by the Commissioner of Police, said in her brief remarks, that the purpose of the visit was to solicit the support and collaboration of the police in her campaign against sexual and gender-based violence in the state.”
In his reaction, the Commissioner of Police, on behalf of his Management Team, officers and men of the Command, expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the visit.
The CP lauded the good initiative of Her Excellency, while assuring her of the Command’s unflinching support to enable her succeed in the fight against all forms of domestic violence and sexual abuse in the state.
Speaking further, the police boss also thanked the First Lady for ‘considering the Command as partner in progress’ in the current campaign against SGBV in the state.
CP Odumosu particularly sought the assistance of the First Lady in the area of capacity-building training for police officers so as to foster better understanding and appreciation of the ongoing campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Lagos State.
