ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS BY KATSINA STATE POLICE

ARREST OF TWO (2) SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS WHO SPECIALIZE IN CALLING UNSUSPECTING MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC, THREATENING AND DEMANDING PAYMENT OF RANSOM OR RISKED BEEN KIDNAPPED OR KILLED: On the 9/2/2022 at about 1000hrs, based on tip off, the command succeeded in arresting the duo of one (1) Usman Abubakar alias “Dangaske”, ‘M’, aged 22 years of Kanbiri village, Safana LGA and (2) Yusufa Ibrahim, ‘M’, aged 30yrs, notorious kidnappers, who specialize in threatening unsuspecting members of the public through phone calls and demanding for ransom or risked been kidnapped or killed.

Nemesis caught up with the suspects when they conspired and called one Abdulbasiru Salisu, ‘m’, of Shema village, Dutsinma LGA, on phone threatening him to deposit the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000:00) into a GT Bank Account number provided by the suspects or risked been kidnapped.

In the course of investigation, suspects were traced and arrested.

They confessed to the commission of the offence and other similar offences. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST/BUSTING OF A SYNDICATE OF NOTORIOUS HOUSE BREAKERS AND THIEVES AND ARREST OF RECEIVER OF STOLEN PROPERTY: On the 26/2/2022, at about 0000hrs, based on credible intelligence, the command succeeded in arresting one (1) Kamala Abdullahi alias “Dan Small”, ‘m’, 18 years old of Yammawa Quarters, Katsina (2) Usman Hamisu, alias “Dan Ussy”, ‘m’, 20 years old of Tudun Yan Lihidda Quarters, Katsina (3) Muhammadu Abubakar alias “Sarauta”, ‘m’, 21 years old of Rafukka Quarters, Katsina and (4) Aminu Salisu, ‘m’, 23 years old of Jibia LGA, Katsina, notorious house breakers and thieves terrorizing Katsina and its environs.

Nemesis caught up with the suspects when they were arrested in a criminal hideout preparing to go out for their nefarious acts.

In the course of investigation, the following exhibits were recovered in their possession: 

(1) One (1) Iron Dagger

(2) One (1) Machete

(3) One (1) Hammer

(4) Two (2) Knives



Suspects confessed to the commission of the offence and mentioned one Sabi’u Salisu alias “DUNA”, ‘m’, 35 years of Kofar Sauri Quarters, a notorious receiver of stolen property, as the receiver of the proceeds of their theft, upon the arrest of the suspect, a search was conducted in his residence where the following exhibits were recovered in his possession

One (1) Mattress

Twenty (20) Sheep

Twenty-five (25) bags of pepper

One (1) Generator

One bundle of Roofing sheets

Suspect was a notorious thief, receiver of stolen property, an ex-convict and habitual criminal. He confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF SIX (6) SUPECTED DRUG DEALERS AND BEING IN POSSESSION OF DRIED LEAVES REASONABLY SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN HEMP AND BOTTLES OF SPIRIT SOLUTION: On the 26/2/2022, at about 0000hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting (1) Aliya Sulaiman, ‘m’, 17 years of Malaku village of Rimi LGA, Katsina. (2) Ahmadu Sulaiman, ‘m’, 25 years old of Kaware, Yargamji village, Batagarawa LGA. (3) Bashir Saddi, ‘m’, 27 years old of Makera, Yargamji village of Batagarawa LGA. (4) Shamsuddeen Salisu Kurfi, ‘m’, 50 years of Kurfi LGA. (5) Alkasim Musa, ‘m’, 18 years, of Kofar Marusa Quarters, Katsina. (6) Sani Ibrahim, ‘m’, 18 years of Bayan Masallacin Idi, Tudun Yanlihidda Quarters, Katsina.

Suspects were arrested by Police operatives at Yargamji market, upon instant search, large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp and spirit solution were found in their possession.

In the course of investigation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence and further stated that they are dealers of the substances. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF THREE (3) SUSPECTED BRIGANDS: On the 26/2/2022, at about 0000hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting the trio of one (1) Mubarak Yunusa, ‘m’, 18 years old of Makera Quarters, Katsina. (2) Abubakar Babangida, ‘m’, 25 years old of Sabon Titin Kwado, Katsina and one (3) Mubarak Yan Ladan, ‘m’, 19 years old of GRA Quarters, Katsina.

Nemesis caught up with the suspects when they were arrested late in the night in possession of dangerous weapons, strongly suspected to be brigands and when questioned, they could not give satisfactory account of themselves. Investigation is ongoing.
