As Zamfara Police Operatives Foils Banditry Attack, Neutralises one Bandit, Recovers Two AK47 Rifles, One Boxer Motorcycle, Arrests Ten (10) Suspects For Various Offences and Rescues a 60year old Kidnaped victim in Gummi LGA.

Gentlemen of the press, as part of its determination to rid the State of all form of criminal activities, and also to sustain the relative peace in Zamfara State.

The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command CP Ayuba N. Elkanah psc(+) has reaffirmed the total commitment of Officers and men of the command to discharge their duties in accordance with Professional ethics and other constitutional provisions.

The Commissioner of Police made this known through the Police Public Relations Officer SP Mohammed Shehu, while showcasing achievements recorded by the Police in various Police Operations across the state.

The achievements comprised the arrest of Ten (10) Suspects including a commander to one of the notorious bandit kinpin Bello Turji for various offences, Recovery of Two (2) AK47 Rifles, One (1) Motorcycle and unconditional Rescue of a 60 year old female Kidnapped victim in Gummi LGA.

The achievements being showcased today is part of our belief, confidence and trust that we have for the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Usman Baba psc(+), NPM, fdc, in his untiring effort to improve the general welfare of Police Personnel in Zamfara State.

Details of the achievements are highlighted below:-

FOILED BANDITRY ATTACK IN KWAREN GANUWA AND NASARAWAR MAIFARA COMMUNITIES, DEATH OF A BANDIT AND RECOVERY OF TWO (2) AK47 RIFLES IN TSAFE LGA. 

Name of Suspect :- Nil

Exhibits Recovered :- Two (2) AK47 Rifle

Police Tactical operatives attached 42 PMF Gusau, on Anti – Banditry Operation at Tsafe, received a stress call that, armed bandits in their large number were sighted heading towards Kwaren Ganuwa village of Tsafe LGA with intent to attack the Community.

The Operatives swung into action and mobilized to the scene, where they engaged the hoodlums to an extensive gun duel.

Luckily enough, the attack was repelled, one of the bandits was fatally injured while others escaped to the forest with possible gun shot wounds.

An AK47 Rifle was recovered at the scene. In the same vein, DPO Tsafe and his team while on confidence building patrol along Nasarawar Maifara village had an encounter with some group of bandits, who eventually fled to the forest and abandoned one AK47 rifle with a magazine.

ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS BANDIT WHO SPECIALISES IN BANDITRY, KIDNAPPING AND OTHER HEINOUS CRIMES AND HAS BEEN TERRORIZING SOKOTO, KATSINA AND ZAMFARA STATES.

LAUWALI RUGUDUMA ‘M’

On 20th March, 2022, Police Tactical operatives on Anti – Banditry Patrol at Gwashi axis in Bukkuyum LGA, intercepted a notorious bandit named Lawali Ruguduma ‘M’ of Batsari LGA of Katsina State.

In the course of interrogation, the suspect confessed that, he was among the recalcitrant bandits terrorising Sokoto, Zamfara and Katsina States. Discreet investigation is ongoing with a view to apprehending his partners in crime and charge to court for Prosecution.

RESCUE OF 60 YEAR OLD FEMALE KIDNAPPED VICTIM AND ARREST OF EIGHT (8) SUSPECTS INCLUDING A COMMANDER TO A NOTORIOUS BANDIT KINGPIN BELLO TURJI WHO HAVE BEEN TERRORIZING GUMMI AND ITS ENVIRON.

NAME OF RESCUED VICTIM :- HAJIYA INNO ‘F’ A 60 YEAR OLD.

Sequel to the report received by the Police on the abduction of 60 Year old Hajiya Inno ‘f’ of Gambanda Magero area in Gummi LGA by suspected armed bandits on 21st March, 2022.

Police Operatives commenced an extensive search and rescue operation that led to the arrest of eight suspects including one of the commanders to a notorious bandit Kingpin Bello Turji in connection with the case.

The suspects including their collaborators have have terrorising Gummi and its environ.

They are currently in Police custody undergoing discreet investigation aimed at apprehending other gang members in order to face the full wrath of the law.

Similarly, the rescued victim had since been reunited with her family after medical check and debriefing.

SMASHED OF A SYNDICATE THAT SPECIALISES IN SNATCHING MOTORCYCLE, HANDSETS AND OTHER PROPERTIES IN GUSAU METROPOLIS, ARREST OF A SUSPECT AND RECOVERY OF BOXER MOTORCYCLE.

2. ZAKARI HASSAN ‘M’ AT LARGE 

3. BASHIR SHEHU ‘M’ AT LARGE.

EXHIBIT RECOVERED :- A BOXER M/CYCLE RED IN COLOUR

On 23rd March, 2022, at about 2100hrs, the above mentioned suspects conspired among themselves and hired Okada Rider, Adamu Bello ‘M’ of Rawuyya village in Gusau LGA, to transport one of them from Unguwar Gwaza area to unknown destination within Gusau.

On reaching Unguwar Gwaza cemetery, the two other suspects Zakari Hassan and Bashir Shehu now at large intercepted the victim and knocked him down with an iron rod.

Police Operatives on receiving the report, swung into action and arrested one of the suspects Rilwanu Ahmed and recovered the Motorcycle while the two other suspects escaped to unknown destination.

The victim who sustained serious wounds was rushed to Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau where he is currently receiving treatment.

Investigation is ongoing aimed at arresting the fleeing suspects before being charged to court for prosecution.

 Finally, the Command under the leadership of CP Ayuba N Elkanah calls on members of the public to acknowledge the effort of the Police and other security agencies in combating crime and criminalities in the state and continue to pray for the sustenance of peace and tranquility in Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.
