Lagos State, France To Collaborate On Sports Development

Exciting times are ahead for Lagos State eSports Association as the Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), deepened its collaborative relationship with France eSports Association through the French Embassy.

Speaking after a meeting with the France Esports association and representatives of the French Embassy, the Executive Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Sola Aiyepeku, averred that Lagos will build an eSports ecosystem through collaborations with international bodies and countries.

The LSSC boss affirmed the resolve of the State to develop eSports and create opportunities for the youth to build careers in the fast-growing sector and also impact the economy of Lagos.

Having formalised the gaming sector through the creation of the Lagos State eSports association in March 2021, Aipepeku declared that the State has demonstrated a leadership role in sports development while commending the eSports Association for enhancing its growth through such partnerships with international bodies and countries.

For the Chairman of Lagos State eSports Association, Emmamuel Oyelakin, deepening the relationship with France eSports Association and the French Embassy means a lot for the development of the eSports ecosystem in Lagos State.

Also making remarks, the President of France eSports Association, Désiré KOUSSAW0, expressed excitement about working with Lagos State where the foundation for eSports development has been solidified and top-notch structures put in place by the Lagos State Sports Commission for the sector to thrive.

In her contribution, French Consulate, Lea Poirier, said the partnership will enable Lagos to build strong collaboration in the long run and attract support from the public and private sector to create work opportunities and pathways to success for young people.
