Brig. General Frank Etim Takes Command Of Nigeria’s 6 Bridge Army • Pledge To Strengthen Security In Taraba State

The newly appointed Commander of the Nigerian Army’s 6th Brigade, Brigadier General FS Etim, assumed command at the Brigade Headquarters in Jalingo, Taraba State today, August 15, 2022.

He assured the people of his willingness to ensure security in the state.

Speaking during the handover and takeover ceremony, the brigade commander pledged to work with all security actors in the state to ensure the peace enjoyed by the people is preserved and enhanced.

He also urged brigade officers and personnel to remain steadfast, proactive and professional in fulfilling their mandate.

Earlier, the outgoing commander of the 6th Brigade, Brig. Gen. HI Mabeokwu, thanked the army chief of staff for the opportunity to serve as the brigade’s engineer commander.

QHe expressed confidence in his successor to consolidate his achievements in dealing with threats to the security of the state.

“I know that your wealth of experience is what will help you be successful,” he claimed.

He further urged officers and soldiers to extend to the new commander the cooperation he enjoyed as the brigade’s engineer commander.

Prior to his appointment to Command 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Etim was the commander of the Amphibious Training School in Calabar, Cross River State.

The highlight of the event was the awarding of the new commander with the insignia of the 6th Brigade and the raising of the flag, marking a new dawn for the brigade.
