The Lagos State Chief Judge Received Transparency Africa Honour

Lagos State Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Kazeem Alogba

Lagos State Chief Justice Hon. Justice Kazeem Alogba has called for the complete elimination of corruption in all sectors of the country’s economy, stating that any corrupt practice, including institutional corruption, must be avoided for the rebirth of a greater Nigeria.

He made the plea on Wednesday while receiving the Transparency Africa Honor at the High Court Annex, Osborne Road, Ikoyi in recognition of his achievements, excellence, integrity and leadership approach.

Judge Alogba said corruption had become deeply engrained in Nigerian society, claiming that it was imperative for Nigerians to stand up and put an end to the monster by making sure the right pens were in the correct holes are inserted.

“Until the system is ready to take disciplinary action to deter it, we cannot move forward in eradicating corruption.

When grievances are filed and people cannot stand up to these grievances and allow due process to take its natural course, then corruption becomes difficult to eradicate,” he said.

Alogba therefore urged the delegation to be bold and transparent in carrying out their duties, just as he pledged to ensure an incorruptible system in the state judiciary.
