Two Arrested By Lagos Police For Raping A Lady Into Coma

Lagos police say two people have been arrested for allegedly raping a 21-year-old dancer into unconsciousness in Lagos.

The suspects, Solomon Barry, 37, and Bright Omega, 36, allegedly took the dancer from the Ikeja mall to the Ikeja business district, where they took turns raping her.

According to Within Nigeria, it was learned that the two nightclub-goers had drugged the victim before driving her in a 2017-model Nissan Almera to a dark place in Ikeja’s business district, where they took turns raping the lady many times.

A police officer who claimed to be among those who arrested the suspects said they were attracted to the car because it was shaking violently as they pulled near the parking lot.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident.

He announced that the suspects were arrested by Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officers early Saturday morning.

Hundeyin said officers who were on patrol caught the suspects in the act around 3:45 a.m. Saturday.

“The suspects, Solomon Barry, 37, and Bright Omega, 36, were caught in the act around 3:45am on Saturday September 10, 2022.

“RRS officers, who were on patrol in the Alausa CBD, stopped to look at a parked black Nissan Almera at the M.K.O. Abiola Gardens Road, Alausa, when they realized the alleged rape was ongoing.

“Upon closer inspection, officers found that the lady was unconscious and was not responding to police instructions.

Officers promptly rounded up the suspects and rushed the lady to RRS headquarters for medical treatment, where she regained consciousness,” the PPRO said.

Hundeyin further explained that the investigation revealed that the lady met the suspects at a club near Ikeja mall in Alausa and then agreed to drive around town and stay with them at a hotel.
