Native Nigerian rapper Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, also known as Phyno, has opened up about his viral claim that he suffers from sickle cell anemia.
The Enugu-born state was forced to clarify in a tweet on Wednesday.
A fan identified as Elle Peter had alleged in a tweet that her love for the singer tripled when she came to know that he has a sickle cell.
She wrote, “Since hearing Phyno has sickle cell anemia, love has tripled, I pray God will give him the strength to keep fighting.”
In response, Phyno wrote: “Lol. No, I do not have sickle cell. Love to everyone fighting it though.”
It is worth noting that the Anambra native but Enugu-born musical artist has achieved significant success in Africa.
In addition to the many awards he has won, Phyno alone has been able to gather thousands of people at the festival he started in 2015, called PhynoFest where the first edition was held at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium in Onitsha, Anambra State with a record attendance of twelve thousand people.
Phyno is the founder and CEO of the Nigeria-based record label Penthauze Music, which he founded after leaving Sputnet Records, where he started his career.
The company became active in 2008 and has signed several artists, including the bright young Superboy Check.
What’s more, Phyno has gone beyond music to show another potential that continues to gain more fans for him.
Certainly, a talent of invaluable talent, Phyno made his film debut when he starred in the blockbuster Nollywood movie, “Lionheart”.
With age on his side, creative juices flowing even more, and fans growing, Phyno never tires as he urges fans to always look out for his signature raps across all music platforms.
