The Lagos Police Command on Thursday declare wanted one Tajudeen Olanrewaju Bakare for allegedly being in possession of weapons and ammunition.
Police who working on actionable intelligence, carried out a sting operation on the residence of the man in the Surulere area of the state and found in his residence three pump action rifles, one Beretta pistol magazine, one expended 9mm ammunition, and three live cartridges and a picture frame of the suspect.
A video had emerged earlier this week showing a man wielding a pump action rifle and threatening public peace, hence CSP Egbeyemi-led Rapid Response Squad (RRS), was tasked to unmask the man behind it.
In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Lagos Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin explained that “the suspect, Tajudeen Olanrewaju Bakare, narrowly escaped arrest and is hereby declared wanted.”
He further stated that “Any useful information leading to his arrest would be highly appreciated and treated with utmost confidentiality.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has appreciated lagosians for their vigilance and prompt information to security agencies, and warned all trouble makers to steer clear of the state as anyone found wanting would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
