Anonymous Gunmen Are Said to Have Shot Dead Three People in Lagos

The Lagos State Command of the Nigerian police confirmed that at least three persons were killed by unidentified gunmen in Gowon Estate, Ayobo Ipaja Area of Alimosho Local Government.

The command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday.

Hundeyin said that the incident took place at around 11.35 pm on Wednesday night.

He said the Gowon Estate Police Division received a call from the estate’s Naval Block that some people had been shot dead by unknown gunmen at 41 Road, Union Bank Block on the estate.

The police scribe  said two patrol teams was immediately deployed  to the scene.

Hundeyin said that at the scene, police officers were told that the victims had been rushed to the Igando General Hospital.

”While at the scene of shooting, the police recovered nine spent cartridges and a bunch of keys.

“At Igando General Hospital, the body of an unknown man was recovered and taken to Yaba General Hospital for safekeeping and autopsy.

“Further information provided to police revealed that two male bodies were taken from their families.

“A male survivor, Doba Ngoze, is currently admitted at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Arba,” he said.

The spokesman said the investigation into the case is already underway. (NAN)
