Three Suspected Armed Robbers who Entered Computer Village and Killed a Trader Have Been Arrested

Police command in Ogun reported that it has arrested three members of a robbery organization that allegedly invaded the telephone market in Abeokuta and killed a merchant.

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police spokesman, on Sunday in a statement issued in Abeokuta, confirmed the arrest of the suspects, including Ajayi Kayode, Habeeb Idowu and Temitayo Oresanya.

Oyeyemi noted that the suspects raided a phone and parts market, known as Tarmac, in broad daylight on April 12, killing one of the merchants after taking away high valuable phones.

He said he was arrested following a tip-off received by policemen attached to the Kemta Divisional Headquarters that the suspects were hibernating at Abule Ake area of Kemta in Abeokuta.

He said that on suggestion, Kemta’s DPO department, Adeniyi Adekunle, mobilized his people and moved to the scene where the three suspects were arrested.

“Two suspects have confessed to being involved in the robbery, while the third suspect, Temitayo Oresanya, although he was confirmed to be a follower of the same group as them, claimed that he did not participate in the robbery.

“He further said that Ajayi Kayode and Habeeb Idowu came to his house at Abule Ake to hide from the police after their robbery escaped,” he said.

Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, commended members of the public for their cooperation in giving useful information to the police.

After that, the commissioner ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation departments for further investigation.

He also directed the Communist Party to hunt down the rest of the gang members and bring them to justice.
