Minister Impregnates Deputy, Says “it was Accidental”

The Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Tony Mwaba Kazadi has confessed that he impregnated his Deputy Minister, Aminata Namasia, describing it as “accidental.”

Local reports revealed that despite their marriage, Kazadi and Namasia developed feelings for each other while working together at the DRC’s Ministry of Education.

According to The Heritage Times, Lungila John, a DRC journalist, revealed the affair between the two officials on Twitter that led to the deputy education minister’s pregnancy.

The duo have been heavily criticized by citizens of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, accusing them of bad behavior and immorality.

Archie Lema, a DRC citizen and Twitter user said the DRC is a country of shame.

He said Namasia has no education to impart to any young woman in the country.

Another citizen of the DRC said that if politicians in the country, especially Kazadi and Namasia wanted to be called “good people” or “respectable”, their behavior should be better and respected, especially since they are well known by the rich, unlike others, Congolese people.

The Heritage Times reported that Namasia was appointed Deputy Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education of the Democratic Republic of the Congo under the cabinet of Jean-Michel Sam Lukonde on April 12, 2021.
