Four Shooters Wearing Military Clothes Were Apprehended by Police Officers

Operating under the cover of military garb, four alleged kidnappers have been taken into custody by Kano State Police command agents.

In a news statement issued by ASP Timfon John, the State Police Public Relations Officer, the suspects were said to have abducted Abraham Ekpe from Ring Road 3 opposite the cemetery.

They were apprehended at Utang Street by Gibbs Street.

“The gang members were on the verge of kidnapping one ‘Richie,’ the friend of their victim (Abraham Ekpe),” the statement stated.

They intended to transport them to Cross River State’s Odukpani Local Government Area.Four suspects were apprehended at the site by the Command’s Anti-Robbery Squad, who moved swiftly to arrest Abdulkarem Yusuf “m,” Yusuf Waziri “m,” Inbinabo Sunny Iboroma “m,” and Abdulrahman Abbas “m.”

Subsequent inquiry also showed that they had abducted their comrade after extorting a five million naira ransom from their victim, who was unable to comply. Abdulkarem Yusuf, Yusuf Waziri Inbinabo Sunny Iboroma, and Abdulrahman Abbas were the suspects that the police named.

“All of the victims were successfully saved, and they are now back with their families.

“One handcuff, one knife, and a red Honda Accord with the licence plate BJ 615 ABC were found.

The suspects will face charges in court after the inquiry is finished.Akwa Ibom State Police Command Commissioner of Police CP Waheed Ayilara has, in the meantime, reaffirmed the Command’s unflinching resolve to making Akwa Ibom uninhabitable for criminals.

“He cautioned the public to notify the police of any suspicious act or movement.”
