Attackers Kill DJ in Hotel at Abuja

On Saturday, a hotel in the Federal Capital Territory was attacked by armed individuals who appeared to be bandits.

During the tragic raid of the hotel in the FCT’s Gwarinpa neighbourhood, a disc jockey was shot and killed.

The DJ, whose real name was Bashir Dauda, passed away after being taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi, Abuja.

Additionally, information was obtained indicating that certain attendees experienced disagreeable and distressing incidents due to the pilfering of their personal effects and possessions.

Since the incident, the locals have been overcome with fear and anxiety because armed robberies are on the rise in the neighbourhood, according to a resident who went only by Sani.

He declared, “A few armed thieves attacked the Volcano Hotel at Gwarinpa early on Saturday morning.

A few hotel guests were robbed and their valuables stolen.

The visitors’ phones and money were taken. “A club in Gwarimpa, Abuja was attacked in the early hours of this morning by gunmen and a DJ I know was killed,” wrote X user Kidbold.

The location is not distant from a police station. On Sunday, Josephine Adeh, the public relations officer for the FCT Police, verified the occurrence.

Adeh reported that when the police arrived on the location following a distress call, they discovered Dauda lying on the ground.

She stated the victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital by the police, where he was pronounced dead.

“On June 15, 2024, at approximately 05:07 am, the FCT Police Command received a distress call regarding a robbery incident that occurred at Volcano Peak Court Hotel, 4th Avenue at approximately 03:35 am,” the speaker stated.

Gwarimpa Police Division operators arrived on the scene right away, secured the area, and found that one Bashir Dauda had been shot by the assailants.

“The victim was immediately taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi, where the attending physicians pronounced him deceased.

The family requested that the body be buried in accordance with Islamic customs, and this was granted.

Adeh stated that the matter was still under investigation. “Investigation is still underway in an effort to capture the offenders; additional updates will be shared in due course,” she continued.

“People should always be aware of their surroundings.

Report any suspicious activity to the police right away, and we’ll act quickly,” the FCT Police Command says.
