Troops Neutralize 60 Terrorists, Arrest 120, Rescue 3 Chibok Girls

The Joint Military Taskforce in the Northeast, known as “Operation Hadinkai,” recently conducted operations that led to the arrest of 60 terrorists and more than 120 suspected terrorists.

The Joint Military Task Force also rescued three other Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram in 2024 from the state girls’ secondary school in Chibok, Borno state.

This was announced on Friday during a press conference at the headquarters of theater commander in Maiduguri, Major General Christopher Musa.

According to the theater commander, “As part of our kinetic and non-kinetic efforts, we intend to deny them the ability to get logistics to keep them going.

In conducting an effective strangulation of the terrorists, the troops have intensified efforts to intercept their logisticians and supplies to deny them vital logistics.”

He explained that a case in point was the arrest on July 13, 2022 of Haruna Fulani and Umaru, who were suspected logistics suppliers to terrorist commander Aliyu Ngolde, in the general area of ​​Mandara Mountains in Gwoza.

He said items recovered from them include 13 bundles of women’s wraps, 20 meters of black cotton, women’s underwear and 25 pairs of rubber shoes.

According to him, between June 27 and July 25, troops rescued three Chibok girls, emphasizing that those rescued include Ruth Bitrus, Karuna Luka with one child, and Hannatu Musa with two children.

Recall that in April 2014, Boko Haram kidnapped 276 schoolgirls between the ages of 16 and 18 from the state girls’ secondary school in Chibok, Borno state.
