President Tinubu Suspends two CEOs of Federal Agencies With Immediate Effect

President Bola Tinubu has dismissed the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr. Babatunde Irukera and the Director General/CEO, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Mr. Alexander Ayoola Okoh.

A statement from Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Monday said the sacked CEOs will be directed to hand over to the next senior official in their respective agencies pending the appointment of new CEOs.

The Presidency said that in accordance with this directive issued by the President, their removal from office becomes effective immediately.

Ngelale also noted that this action was in line with plans to restructure and reposition critical agencies of the Federal Government to protect the rights of Nigerian consumers and provide a solid basis for increased contribution to the national economy of key institutions enabling the growth.
