According to the Lagos State Government, the allegation of restricting passenger cars from Northern states was untrue.
According to Within Nigeria, this claim was made by the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in a statement issued by General Secretary Yusuf Adeniyi.
Adeniyi claimed the union was told the state government had stopped functioning and demanded that the decision be overturned.
Sulemon Raji, the chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Administrator, denied the alleged ban on Monday.
Raji, at a press conference on Monday, called the statement disgusting, disgusting, horrifying and disparaging propaganda.
Lagos, he said, is a center of excellence and the fifth largest economy in Africa.
Lagos is home to ethnic minorities in every region.
He said, “We hate any action or manifestation of racial discrimination in our dealings because we believe that for any organization or association to prosper, it depends solely on its unity.”
Raji advised RTEAN to refrain from making a “dramatic display of shamelessness” on a matter already before the court and let the judicial process take its course.
