The Oyo State Police Force has arrested three suspects who were arrested for crimes ranging from kidnapping and armed robbery to rape and illegal possession of firearms.
State Police Public Relations Officer Adewale Osifeso, who brought the suspects before journalists at the Eleyele command center on Monday, said a lady (name not included) was visiting her friend in Alakia, Ibadan, and was near the community At 9:00 p.m., three night watchmen approached a desolate place.
“In a rather twisted turn of events, the young woman, having been stripped of her mobile phone, was taken to another desolate location, where she was held until around 1.25am the following morning.
“In addition to the above, the three guards take turns knowing the girl’s illicit behaviour and forced her to transfer money to a bank account before she was abandoned to face her fate at the scene “During the interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime.
A dane gun, which they used for criminal activities, and the victim’s Infinix mobile phone were recovered from the accused, the police spokesperson added.
