Eid-El-Kabir: FRSC Deploys one Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty Personnel, Forty Vehicles, Others

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos State Command, has deployed one thousand five hundred and fifty personnel comprising officers, marshals and Special Marshals, forty patrol vehicles, Eight power bikes, Four ambulances, Four private-owned tow trucks, to monitor all roads during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations in the state.

A statement on Saturday by the Sector Public Education Officer of the Command, Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), quoted the Lagos State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye, as saying that the men and materials deployed are for traffic control at strategic locations within the metropolis during the Eid-El-Kabir Celebrations.

The Sector Commander, according to the statement, admonished motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations and avoid infractions that can lead to crashes and obstruction of free flow of traffic, adding that motorists should carry out necessary maintenance of their vehicles to avoid breakdown.

Farinloye further emphasized the need for lane discipline on the expressway, especially on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, where construction work is still ongoing.

“To ensure free flow of traffic during this festivity period, the FRSC Lagos State Command will continue to sensitize motorists and step up its early morning safety cry at motor parks and other designated places.

“The command will carry out special patrol operation and traffic control to ease road congestion in the metropolis and all major corridors across the state from 26 June to 1st July 2023,” the statement concluded.

The sector commander wished all Muslim faithful and Nigerians a happy Eid-El-Kabir celebrations while advising motorists to drive with caution.
