- Sule called on the Commission to focus on the administration’s vision of transparency and accountability

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule on Monday swore in 16 new commissioners, including 13 men and 3 women.
Notably, on July 28, 2023, Sully submitted 17 names as Commissioner candidates to the State House of Representatives for examination and possible confirmation as members of the State Executive Council.
The state assembly had vetted 16 out of the 17 nominees who showed up for the screening just as one of the commissioner nominees Haruna Musa from Nassarawa Eggon LGA failed to show up for the screening due to indisposition.
Gov. Sule who warned the commissioners against corrupt practices, urged them to key into his administration’s vision of transparency, accountability and rule of law also advised the commissioners to come on board with a winning attitude, ingenuity, and deep insight in handling every situation.
The governor reminded the new members of the state executive council to adopt the characteristic of governance where trust is sacred, adding that treachery by the government will not be tolerated.
“I want to congratulate you on your well-deserved appointments as we engage in broader consultations before Statewide Commissioners are appointed.
“I would like to request you to adopt my administration’s vision of transparency and accountability and shun corrupt practices.
“I also urge you to be dedicated and work hard as this administration values hard work, commitment and loyalty,” he said.
The governor warned that his administration would not tolerate any incompetence and urged them to prioritize the welfare of the people and ensure that citizens enjoy the benefits of democracy.
The governor said the appointees who were dependable people were selected based on track records after careful consultation, saying the state stands to benefit from their experiences.
Sule urged the new commission to show the government’s confidence in them.
And reiterates that the new council is linked to a value increase and must be in a position to add value to the art of governance in the state.
