Lagos State Government Partners With the Nigeria Police Force to Ensure Safe and Easy Commuting

The Lagos State Government will continue to work with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure the safe movement of motorists throughout the city.

In a courtesy visit by the new Lagos Police Commissioner, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade and his team, the Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi while welcoming the Commissioner of Police, asked for continued cooperation with the military in maintaining the position of the State Government on zero tolerance for traffic violations.

Mr. Osiyemi further stressed the need for more policemen to prevent traffic robberies and ensure safety on alternative routes during the ongoing repair of the Third Mainland Bridge and subsequent enforcement of okada traffic rules and misuse of transport infrastructure.

In response to the above requests, the Commissioner of Police disclosed that Divisional Police Officers of Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas have been mandated to deal with the aforementioned challenges and changes are inevitable.

The Commissioner of Police assured the support of the force in addressing the above challenges and also revealed that the Police has formed a Committee with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Lagos State Neighborhood Corporation and other sister agencies to manage law enforcement.

He assured that the joint efforts of the bodies will make transportation safer, smoother and better than before.
