Timothy Dauda, a 19-year-old Edo State resident who describes himself as a “native doctor,” was detained when his client passed away during a bulletproof charm test.
Dauda was employed to make and test the charm in Onumu Community, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, where the occurrence took place.
A representative for the Edo State Police Command, SP Moses Joel Yamu, stated that the client, known as Alex Ezekiel, asked for the charm and consented to a show of its efficacy.
But when Ezekiel got shot and died, the test took a devastating turn.
After being sent to Ifejola Hospital in Igarra, he was declared dead.
Yamu claimed that agents from the Igarra Division had taken Dauda into custody.
Dauda is an expert in crafting charms that ward against weapons and cutlasses.
Following the conclusion of the inquiry, it is anticipated that the suspect will be prosecuted.
