Kenyan Police Officer On The Run After Raping Prisoner

A police officer identified as Constable Samuel Wanyonyi is reportedly on the run after raping a female prisoner at one of the offices of Kaimosi Police Station in Nandi County, Kenya, on Sunday July 17.

According to K24TV, the victim was arrested on July 14 for the offense of child theft and detained at the train station.

The station commander was on a routine cell visit when the victim informed him of the incident.

Added the police statement; “The OCS immediately took her to the office and during interrogation she stated that the officer went into the cell alone and told her that the OCS would call her and leave the other three female prisoners behind.

“Armed with a rifle, he immediately turned on her and ordered her into a room next to the registration office, forcibly removed her pants and raped her.”

After taking her back to her cell, he warned her that if she revealed what had happened, he would kill her.

Added the explanation; “The suspect was later determined to be Constable Samuel Wanyonyi, who was an employee of the registration office and took advantage after his colleague briefly left the office to tend to her sick child.”

The victim was taken to the hospital for examination and treatment and was later given a police medical examination report, the P3 form.
