The wife of an employee of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic and the couple’s three children were kidnapped by bandits in Shika Village, Giwa Prefecture, Kaduna State.

According to the Daily Trust, a vigilante source said the suspected bandits entered the village around 11pm and walked to their target’s home without firing.

He said that immediately after the attack, vigilantes in neighboring villages were alerted and blocked all exits.

The source said: “We blocked the exit of Karau Karau and Sako villages and later engaged the bandits in a gun duel when they started shooting at us.
