Four Whistleblowers Arrested In Kuje Jailbreak Of Abuja Attack

The four whistleblowers were arrested for providing terrorists with information about the locations and movements of troops in and around Abuja.

According to PRNigeria, the suspects were arrested on the night of July 5 following investigations into a break-in at the Medium Security Custodial Center in Kuje.

Also under investigation are other recent attacks in Abuja, such as ambushes by army personnel, including the Presidential Guard Brigade.

According to Within Nigeria, it was recalled that Boko Haram’s breakaway faction, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), attacked the Kuje prison center on July 5.

The suspects were caught with walkie-talkies, a revolver, knives, amulets and old Chinese-made phones that don’t use data.

An intelligence officer said they were being questioned to establish their links to terrorist groups, bandits and other elements.

“While the military has refused to provide updated information on the attacks on Kuje Prison and troops at Bwari and Zuma Rock Axis, the joint security task force killed more than 70 armed criminals.”

The agent confirmed that among those killed were “dangerous Kuje prison escapees and terrorists.”

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) coordinates intelligence operations on the attacks on security personnel and formations.
